Normandy

One of the basic philosophies behind the From D-Day to V- Day project is to symbolically link the historical events in Normandy (D-Day = Allied landing in Normandy) with the journey to western Bohemia, where the fighting ended in victory for the Allied forces in Europe (V-Day = Victory in Europe Day). Cooperation and exchanges of experience among tourism institutions in Normandy and Pilsen have been inspirational for both sides; making the most of the regions’ tourism potential has been brought to a new level, offering opportunities to expand historical knowledge and follow the fates of soldiers and civilians.
