One of the high points of this year’s military program will be a historical battle display that has always been especially popular with visitors over the past years. Directed by the 2nd Infantry Division Pilsen club, the huge field battle entitled “Infernal Cauldron” is scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, May 1, at U Ježíška.
The battle between the armored vehicles and troops - which is not a reenactment of an actual event, but a precisely orchestrated work of “historical fiction” – will start at 4 p.m. Visitors can look forward to seeing US Halftracks, M20s or famous M8 Greyhounds go to battle. On the German side, SdKfz 250 and SdKfz 221, Mercedes machine guns and many other weapons and machinery will make an appearance. In terms of the number of American vehicles on the field, this year’s battle will be the largest not only in the history of Pilsen, but the entire Czech Republic!
