For the last time, members of the Brotherhood of the Belgian 17th Fusilier Battalion announced the winner of the Jan Palach Prize, a competition they have organized since 1990. The winner of the high school competition, in which contestants must write an essay in French on a subject assigned by the Brotherhood, received a 14-day stay in the French-speaking part of Belgium.

For the last time, members of the Brotherhood of the Belgian 17th Fusilier Battalion announced the winner of the Jan Palach Prize, a competition they have organized since 1990. The military camps at the Proluka site are continuing their regular daily routines on Saturday. After breakfast and warm-up exercises, they performed drill exercises, cleaned their weapons and got ready for lunch. The soldiers are also describing the equipment on display and showing weapons to visitors.

The final battle to liberate Pilsen will culminate on Saturday morning at the park behind the Plaza shopping mall. The military part of the student competition will start at 10 a.m. “The competitors will measure their strengths in several disciplines focused on speed, endurance, and emphasis on teamwork. It is a perfect test of their will and desire to win,” explains the director of the Regional Military Command Pilsen, General Staff Col. Roman Kučera.
