For twenty years now, the atmosphere of the first days of May has been absolutely unique in Pilsen. Following many decades of silence, since 1990 the people of Pilsen have been able to freely commemorate and spontaneously celebrate the end of World War II with the true liberators of the city.
Each year people from around the world come to Pilsen to celebrate the liberation of the city together with residents of the city, American veterans and their family members. Nevertheless, this year’s Liberation Festival will be a little different and special. The Festival will be exceptional for its size, the quantity of historical and contemporary military machinery, and especially for the participation of enthusiastic fans and war veterans. The veterans in particular will be at the center of attention this year.
